Every year J and I take a trip down the coast and come back with kilos lemons from his parent's coast house. The trees are magical, they get very little love and attention but every year around August they become covered in lemons of all shapes and sizes so every year I have to come up with new ways to use lemons.
So when I saw this recipe on Evan's Kitchen Ramblings I knew I had to make Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-46641545651202868032012-08-14T18:10:00.002+10:002013-01-20T12:09:20.254+11:00Gingerbread
I am utterly in love with spiced biscuits and breads. They're so warming when it's awful and cold outside. They remind me that winter isn't so bad and summer is just around the corner.
These gingerbread where supposed to be rolled with a patterned rolling pin but, I don't know about you, but I'm just not fancy enough to own one. So, instead I just cut them into boring circles and flicked the Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-74948204759587562792012-06-25T18:27:00.000+10:002012-08-18T10:00:26.280+10:00Orange profiteroles
I'm a sucker for anything that contains custard and pastry, and in you add caramel to the combo I'm pretty much in heaven. So, it's no secret that I love profiteroles.
That being said, I don't make them quite as much as I would like. There's a good reason for this and it's not because they're complicated, it's because when I do make them I can't resist eating them. All of them. In a very shortTaraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-68827903319830203402012-04-20T21:44:00.005+10:002012-04-20T21:44:49.394+10:00Honey cheesecake with walnut biscotti
Unfortunately, for this post I only have part of the recipe to offer up. It's also the least featured part in the pictures. That's right, it's the biscotti recipe. The bisoctti that you can see only a tiny portion of on the right handside of the above picture. Opps.
You see, I lost the cheesecake recipe. Which is kind of upsetting because it was pretty delicious. I'm a big fan of unbaked Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-49850686123952247012012-03-31T09:39:00.001+11:002012-03-31T09:39:10.400+11:00Chocolate and nut muffins
Typically I like my muffins light and fluffy with a crispy top, but there are times when I crave something dense and packed with delicious. Something that feels wicked in a way a light muffin never could. I think for those times I found the perfect recipe.
The recipe for these muffins was originally meant for a loaf tin, but mid-way through making I realised I didn't actually own a loaf tin. I Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-21818847968356814422012-02-24T08:52:00.000+11:002012-04-03T18:20:09.313+10:00Chocolate orange crème caramel
I wish I could make a perfect crème caramel, with beautiful smooth sides and the perfect amount of caramel pooling on the top and around the edges but I can't. I can make a tasty, delicious crème caramel but like most things I make it always has a certain degree of wonky-ness about it. In some ways it's quite charming but in others it's not the desired effect.
I read somewhere that having your Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-48631117088840306812012-01-22T10:00:00.000+11:002012-02-11T08:37:01.807+11:00Tiramisu
Until last year I'd never had tiramisu. I'm not quite sure why not, I'd just never tried it. It's such a classic dessert and yet I'd never even tasted it.
Last year I made it, bu never photographed it because it was huge, and in a pie dish, and kind of fell apart when it was dished. It was also all eaten before I got the chance to even attempt to make it aesthetically pleasing.
This time, I Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com11tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-42778649173183196252011-12-28T09:44:00.002+11:002012-01-02T09:30:19.556+11:00Lemon & plum cake
Despite the cold at the moment it's still plum season and as result I've inadvertently ended up with a huge bucket of them. Initially they went into my mouth, then this cake, and finally into jam as a way of keeping them around for longer. Despite how nice they were, there's only so many plums two people can eat in a week. I would write about the jam but it's quite a simple process and cake is Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-39857637892749797312011-11-14T13:35:00.001+11:002011-11-16T07:58:57.316+11:00Lime cheesecake ice cream with gingerbread
The weather is finally warm enough for ice cream here in Australia, so once again it's time to start making it. Homemade ice cream is exciting because you can make whatever flavour you like. There are barely any restrictions when it comes to what you can make at home. Super fun.
I have this terrible, terrible love for this incredible bad for me lime cheesecake yoghurt they sell at the super Taraniihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04778777017151366558noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-383196936688272003.post-948442884386605552011-10-06T18:36:00.000+11:002011-12-28T11:11:28.996+11:00Pumpkin & walnut cake
It's been a good long while since I've posted but in my defence it's only been partially due to laziness. The main cause was in fact that I've been on holidays. I have one more post already lined up after this one, using photos I took and edited about a month ago. In the rush of getting ready to go away I didn't get a chance to write an entry.

I love it. I can eat it by the packet and because of this I never buy it. I know if I were to buy it I would eat it all.To fulfil my craving for shortbread I decided to make my own. That mission is to find the best biscuit made with egg whites and no yolks. The problem is, I don't even know where to start. Sure, I can make macarons, macaroons, or tuiles but I'm after something more homely. Something more biscuit-y; something squishy and awesome. There biscuits aren't quite there but they're pretty good.
